The Senate is made up of the GSO E-board and senators from all departmental suborganizations, and seven representatives from the Sociocultural and Multicultural Assembly (SCMA). It is the representative and decision-making body of the GSO. The Senate approves budget allocations, amendments, charters, expenditures, and statements, and oversees other GSO-related activities.

The Senate meets in the Graduate Student Lounge (LN 1104 -- the main floor of the Library Tower near the Coffee Kiosk and elevators). Meetings are held Wednesdays from 4:30-6 p.m. every two weeks during the academic terms.

Senate meetings are open to the public.
